Delete Account Gmail – There are various reasons why you might want or need to delete your account in Gmail, and since everyone’s situation is unique, we won’t get into that here. But what we do need to point out is that you must think carefully about everything that your Gmail account is used for besides Gmail itself. As in, the Google account on your Android devices and all related Play Store data and purchases, YouTube account, Google Drive and all the files stored there…
So just realize that deleting your account in Gmail will also delete all of those services if they’re attached to the Gmail account, and all of their associated data. If you’re okay with that, or if the Gmail account you want to delete isn’t used for anything else, then you can continue with the steps below.
Delete Account Gmail
First, sign out of everything in Google, including Gmail, YouTube, Google Drive, Google Play, etc. – this is especially important if you have multiple accounts so that you don’t accidentally delete the wrong one.
Next, sign into the Gmail account that you want to delete. Click on your profile picture in the upper right-hand corner and click the big blue button that says “my account”.
Scroll down to the bottom and click on “account preferences”, then scroll down to the bottom again to where it says “delete your account or services”, and click on the second option, “delete Google account and data”.
You might have to re-enter your password at this point before deleting your Gmail account.
Check all the boxes to acknowledge the different accounts/services that will be lost when you delete the Gmail account.
Finally, indicate you understand you’re still responsible for pending charges and that you want to permanently delete this Google/Gmail account and everything that goes with it, and then click the “DELETE ACCOUNT” button.
Poof, gone forever.
