Create Account SnapChat – Facebook is old hat (if your parents and all of your friends’ parents are on it, it’s time to move on to something new). SnapChat is where it’s at right now. This app lets you stay in touch with all your friends with photos, short videos and statuses with the added bonus of having your messages self-destruct after a certain period of time that you set, with a maximum time of 10 seconds for regular messages or unlimited views for 24 hours for snaps added to “Stories”.
Setting up a SnapChat account is free and easy. Here’s how to do it.
Create account SnapChat
You can’t make a new SnapChat account from your PC; you have to download the app to your Android smartphone or iPhone. Download and install SnapChat exactly the same way you install any app on your device, which for Android users is typically through the Google Play Store and for iPhone users will be through the iTunes App Store.
Once the app is installed, open it and you’ll see the welcome screen. Tap on the button that says “SIGN UP”. Then, enter your email address in the appropriate field (this email will be used to recover your password if you ever forget it, so make sure it’s right) and choose a strong password to login to your SnapChat account in the future. You’ll also have to enter your birthday (SnapChat is restricted to people age 13 and older).
Next, it’s time to choose a SnapChat username. This has to be unique (in other words, no one else can be using it or have used it in the past). Choose wisely, because you can’t change your username once you make your SnapChat account. Your only option would be to delete your account and then create a new one, which would send your first username to the pile of “username not available” for eternity.
SnapChat will ask for your phone number to verify your account. You don’t have to do this right now if you don’t want, but it’s not a bad idea to do it. If you forget your password and you have already verified your phone number, SnapChat can send you a text with a password reminder/reset.
Finally, you have to prove you’re not a robot by entering a captcha code. Once that’s done, your SnapChat account is ready to use. You can add friends from your phone’s contacts or search by SnapChat username, and start snapping!
